About Light Limits
A load calculator for string lights that checks both limits, on both supply voltages.
Why it exists
Most holiday lighting guidance online has two problems. It assumes a 120 volt American circuit, which leaves the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand reading numbers that do not apply to them. And it runs the circuit capacity sum and the chaining sum together as though they were one calculation, when they are separate constraints with separate causes.
This site asks where you are, then reports both limits independently and tells you which one binds first.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser. There is no account and no server doing the arithmetic, so nothing you type goes anywhere.
Corrections are welcome, particularly on regional wiring practice. The contact page is the place, and the methodology page sets out every constant we use so there is something specific to argue with.
